We've been on two trips to Balgo; two 18 hour trips to bring in foals that lost their mothers.

One 2 week old colt was found stuck in mud and was pulled out by Mick, who called us. Our volunteer Jen Stevenson drove out to collect it and we managed to help it survive. We've called him Onyx. He's a cheeky colt and has been adopted by Jens mare who adores him.

A week later Mick called again with a 2-week old filly whose mother had been shot by tourists. She's still weak but drinking well and seems to be improving. She's tiny.

We've managed to raise some funding, not much yet, to help cover costs of foal milk,(Profilac), fuel and vet fees, but we'll need more. It's foaling season now so we're hoping there won't be any more crisis, but we're ready just in case.

Time to save another orphan foal

On the road again to Balgo to collect this filly, saved after tourists shot her mother, for sport! so we now have two orphans.
